Early Life and Career
Gabriel Slonina was born on May 15, 2004, in Addison, Illinois. He began playing soccer at a young age and quickly rose through the ranks of youth soccer in the United States. In 2019, he joined the Chicago Fire academy.
Professional Career
Slonina made his professional debut for the Chicago Fire in 2021 at the age of 17. He quickly established himself as one of the top goalkeepers in MLS, earning the MLS Goalkeeper of the Year award in 2022.
In August 2022, Slonina signed a six-year contract with Chelsea of the Premier League for an initial fee of $10 million. He is currently on loan to Barnsley of League One.
International Career
Slonina has represented the United States at various youth levels. He made his senior debut for the United States national team in a friendly match against Serbia in January 2023.
