WEB Managing Editor Live Coverage

ELMONT, N.Y. -- Arcangelo took the lead at the top of the stretch and won the Belmont Stakes on Saturday, making the 47-year-old John Antonucci the oldest winning trainer in the race's 155-year history.

Arcangelo, ridden by Luis Saez, covered the 1 1/2 miles in 2:28.28 and paid $13.40 to win.

The victory gave Antonucci his second win in a Triple Crown race. He won the 2003 Belmont Stakes with Empire Maker.

National Treasure, the Preakness Stakes winner, finished second after leading most of the race. Creative Minister was third.

The Belmont Stakes was the final leg of the Triple Crown this year. No horse has won the Triple Crown since Affirmed in 1978.
