Furiosa Prequel to Mad Max Fury Road Announced

Anya Taylor-Joy to Star as Young Furiosa

George Miller Returns to Direct

Warner Bros. Pictures has announced that Furiosa, the prequel to Mad Max: Fury Road, is in development.

The film will be directed by George Miller, who also directed Fury Road. Anya Taylor-Joy (The Queen's Gambit) will star as the young Furiosa, a character played by Charlize Theron in Fury Road.

"Furiosa is a story that has always been close to my heart," said Miller in a statement. "I'm excited to be working with Anya, who is a fierce and talented actress. I can't wait to see her bring Furiosa to life on the big screen."

Furiosa is scheduled to be released in theaters on June 23, 2023.
